This is definitely one for the geeks among us, believe it or not 1234567890 occurred at 23:31:30 GMT today, Friday 13, 2009. In the US, this equates to:

Before you go clicking over to your favorite time converter site, 1234567890 Unix Epoch Time is Friday, 13 Feb 2009 23:31:30 GMT, or in the US:

  • 15:31:30 / 3:31:30 PM PST
  • 16:31:30 / 4:31:30 PM MST
  • 17:31:30 / 5:31:30 PM CST
  • 18:31:30 / 6:31:30 PM EST

For all the non-geeks out there, the Unix “Epoch Time” is the number of seconds that have elapsed since midnight coordinated Universal Time (or UTC) on January 1, 1970.

So where were you at 1234567890 Unix time?  I was exploring the new Milpitas Branch of the Santa Clara Public Library.  Just for fun, where were you at midnight UTC on 01/01/1970?  Since I was living in southern Florida at the time, at 7:00 PM EST on 12/31/69, I was probably having dinner with my family.  :)
