It was good to see that companies are exploring alternatives to outright layoffs. Hopefully more companies will consider options like those outlined in the article should the need to trim corporate budgets continue.

Over here in the UK there are also a few companies asking their workforce to consider short term pay decreases of around 10% to help safe guard their jobs.
